B4 The Horseshoe 2

Chiricahua National Monument, Chiricahua Mountains, Southeast Arizona

I'll be gone camping for the next week, returning to Chiricahua National Monument after the Horseshoe 2, a major wildfire in southern Arizona, burned 222,954 acres through the Chiricahua Mountains starting on May 8, 2011 with containment on June 25, 2011.

I've been hiking and camping in these mountains for the last 15 years and will miss this spectacular forest. I plan on doing an annual photo essay documenting it's regrowth.
